Hitch N Ride - Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Hitch N Ride website or mobile platform (the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Platform Overview

Hitch N Ride provides an online connection service that allows livestock owners ("Customers") to connect with transport providers ("Transporters") for livestock hauling. We are not a carrier, broker, or insurer, and we do not provide transportation services or guarantee animal safety.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. resident to use the Platform.

4. User Accounts

Customers and Transporters can create accounts. You are responsible for safeguarding login credentials and activities under your account.

5. Transporter Responsibilities

  • Hold valid licenses, insurance, and applicable USDA/DOT authorizations.
  • Ensure humane and lawful animal handling.
  • Comply with state and federal livestock transport regulations.

6. Customer Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate pickup, delivery, and livestock details.
  • Ensure animals are fit and legally eligible for transport.
  • Verify Transporter credentials before booking.

7. Payment Terms

Payments occur between Customers and Transporters. Hitch N Ride may use third-party payment processors but is not responsible for disputes or failed payments.

8. Liability Disclaimer

We are a connection platform only and not responsible for any injury, loss, damage, or delay caused by user interactions or transport activities.

9. Prohibited Use

  • Posting false listings
  • Harassment or harm
  • Illegal activities
  • Data scraping or misuse

10. Intellectual Property

All site content and trademarks belong to Hitch N Ride, LLC. Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Hitch N Ride, LLC from claims or damages arising from your Platform use.

13. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Total liability is limited to fees paid within 12 months.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Colorado law. Disputes will be resolved in Delta County, Colorado.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Platform signifies acceptance of updates.

Transporter Terms & Conditions / Disclaimer

By creating or maintaining a transporter account on Hitch N Ride, you acknowledge and agree to the following transporter-specific terms:

  • You represent that all transporter profile, species, service area, trailer/equipment, compliance, and availability information you provide is accurate and kept current.
  • You are solely responsible for maintaining valid licenses, registrations, permits, insurance coverage, vehicle compliance, and any USDA, DOT, or other identifiers required by law for the services you offer.
  • You acknowledge that Hitch N Ride may request verification documents, review submitted materials, approve or reject verification, revoke badges, suspend visibility, or ban accounts where safety, fraud, or compliance concerns exist.
  • You understand that Founder, Verified, or future badges are platform designations only and do not create any guarantee, warranty, endorsement, agency, brokerage, or employment relationship with Hitch N Ride.
  • You acknowledge that transporter profiles may be browsed publicly, including transporter/business name, profile image, general location, species transported, equipment information, profile description, and platform badges.
  • You understand that contact details, messaging access, and direct quote request actions may be restricted until a visitor is logged in or reaches the appropriate in-platform flow.
  • You agree not to upload false, misleading, expired, incomplete, or third-party documents and not to misrepresent insurance, qualifications, route capability, equipment, or availability.
  • You remain fully responsible for transport operations, livestock handling, route legality, vehicle condition, animal welfare, timing, and all conduct connected to the services you provide.
  • Hitch N Ride is a connection platform only and does not supervise transport jobs, employ drivers, own hauling equipment, or assume liability for transporter performance.
  • We reserve the right to remove content, limit account access, reject verification, or terminate transporter participation at our discretion where needed to protect users or the platform.
